Authenticity

Autographed collectables are not only exciting to own and display, they are investments that increase in value over time. But value is a direct result of authenticity. Some collectors prefer to own only those items they have seen signed themselves. Most serious collectors and savvy customers buy their autographed items from reputable dealers with excellent long standing reputations for quality and integrity. There are several important criteria that experienced collectors want to satisfy when purchasing an autographed item:

1. Provenance / Certificate of Authenticity(COA) with money- back guarantee on authenticity.
Each new Starmarks item has filed documentation, backed by a signed affidavit, as to where and when it was obtained. Every item has a tamper-evident numbered sticker on the back. This log and inventory number, in addition to a picture of the product, is on file in our archives to prevent fraud.

2. A careful analysis of the signature using a reputable library of celebrity signature exemplars.
Experienced autograph collectors know that it's very difficult to verify a celebrity signature; sometimes autographs are obtained "on the run", when famous artists are moving while signing. In signing sessions, when an artist is signing a number of objects, there is a natural variance in the slant, pitch, spacing and articulation of letters in their signature. But exemplars, or true and accurate signature examples, still remain a reliable standard in the industry. Starmarks examines each and every signature against a library of exemplars, with its knowledge of signing circumstances and artist idiosyncracies to further evaluate the integrity of the autograph.

Our guarantee is only valid for the original purchaser as long as the original purchaser retains possession of the item. That means that if AT ANY TIME after the purchase you provide us with a written statement from a qualified forensic handwriting examiner/expert who questions the authenticity of any autograph, we will refund the purchase price upon the return of the autographed item. Please note that StarMarks ONLY recognizes opinions and analysis from trained forensic examiners. We do not recognize self proclaimed experts and companies with no certification as document examiners, and who are in the business of selling autographs, or who have 'arms length' relationships with sellers of autographed memorabilia.

Customer Service

We believe in communicating with our customers and responding to each collector's priorities! If you don't see an autographed item by the artist you want, contact Claudia, Director of Marketing, by phone during business hours or email anytime. Claudia can tell you about our "Collector's Request" service which leverages industry contacts to target artists not in our immediate inventory. Claudia can also provide you with the information you need about shipping charges. Be sure to include your postal or zip code, city and country.

Starmarks takes great pride in, and care of, your item as it is hand packed and shipped to you within 24 hours of payment . All shipping and handling charges include Federal Express Ground shipment and insurance, and most customers receive their package about 4 days from the time it leaves our offices. Overnight express is also available; call or email to inquire about the details.

Starmarks takes all major credit cards, inlcuding Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. Purchases made by credit card will be shipped only to the credit card billing address. Purchases made by Cashier's check or money order are shipped the same day payment is received. Please allow 15 business days for shipment of purchases made by personal check.

All sales are final. There is a 25% restocking fee on all merchandise. You must have an RMA before returning goods. Please call for info.

Additional import taxes, VAT and Duties from all foreign countries may be additional and are not the responsibility of U.S. Trade Discount, Inc. /StarMarks.
